Final Font

The final font we are going to be using is The Ring Bearer font. This is because it looks more fuller and sharp. Most people in our media class chose this as their favourite which is another reason why we are using this font. In the previous font blog I made I stated how this was my personal favourite font so i'm glad this is the one we are going with.

These are a few fonts that out of all the options dafont.com has to offer we liked the most, we are still unsure which one to choose and each individual has different opinions on each font therefore we are going to make a survey. I personally prefer the second from bottom one as it is clean yet still has an edgy cut to it which fits our band perfectly.

Roles

Roles

Myself, Max Harry and George sat down and discussed the roles we will uptake in the production and planning of our music video. Firstly, we have decided that I am going to be the cinematographer because I have the most experience behind the camera which means ill be able to do the job efficiently and everyone feels comfortable with me having this role. Max has been assigned the role of editor because he has had previous experience in this role from last year and enjoys editing and does it in his free time as a hobby and sometimes even has jobs from clients to do so he is more than capable for this job.The role Harry has been given is the director, this means Harry is in charge and its up to him to tell us how he wants the project to look although everyone will be putting in ideas, the concept of the music video was Harry's idea. George's role is Mise en Scene therefore he is in charge of setting out the scene and choosing things like props costumes and what lighting we should film in.

Our Record Label

The record label The Watchmen are signed to is called Rise Records, this Independent Record label is based in Beaverton, Oregon, America. Although it is Independant the company is very large and signs bands from all over America. One of the reasons we chose this record label is because it specialises in hard rock and punk rock, these two styles of music is exactly what our band 'The Watchmen' produces.

Choosing this Independent record label allows the band to have more creative control over their own music, and the label specialise in our bands genre which makes the label is perfect for the band.

Two similar bands that are signed by this Independent record label are Five Finger Death Punch and A Fire From The Gods.

Planning of Music Video

In Today's lesson I began to annotate the lyrics for 'Back To Me' (my groups chosen to song to create a music video for). While I did this Max and Harry started the process of story boarding. The lyric annotation's I made inspired me to think of different shots that will link both sound (lyrics and Instrumentation) and cinematography together in the right time/place.

Background Story - Watchmen

There are five members in the band Watchmen:
Jordan Tuck - Main Vocalist
Alex Stone - Guitarist
Jesse Axen - Back up Guitarist
Ace Mckinnon - Bass Guitarist
Tom Bane - Drummer

These 5 artists are best friends from California, Sacramento, that met in high school and bonded over their love for music and performing.'Where the sun goes' was the original band name, they performed at gigs while growing up. The band split up in 2014 due to members having jobs and responsibilities they was committed to however they still got together to produce music in free time. In January 2016 the 5 best friends formed a new band called 'The WATCHMEN'. The band has a rock/metal sound with nu-metal influences creating a sound people can rock out to. In March 2016 a large independent record label called Sumerian signed a contract with the band after they caught the labels attention from performing in local club. The contract gave the band an opportunity to create a full album with their single 'Back To Men' due to be released late 2017.

Bands that have influenced The Watchmen - Bring me the Horizon, Stone Sour, Linkin Park and Royal Blood.

The genre we want to chose a music video for is going to be rock. This is because there is members in our group who heavily love rock music and feel most comfortable doing this genre. Personally I am not the biggest fan of rock music however I agreed to this genre because i believe we can make a really cool narrative for the music video and i'm intrigued by this new experience of filming.

The mood board we created is full of images that relate to our chosen song " Back To Me " by Of Mice and Men. Some images on the mood board are possible filming locations where as others relate to the genre of our song of which is rock.

Song Choice

The song my group have chosen to make a music video for is " Back to me " by Of Mice and Men.

This Song does have a music video already however it is only a live performance where as we are planning to interweave a live performance of our band playing the song while a story takes place. We want both live performance and narrative in our music video, to do this we need to take a lot of different shots and use cuts regularly.
